Dear Mines Faculty, Students, and Staff

ITS is aware that Mines users are experiencing intermittent network disruptions that are leading to VPN disconnections, dropped video calls, and other network-related impacts. These outages have been narrowed down to possible issues with our campus firewalls. The firewall vendor has recommended updates that will hopefully address the problem. We will be implementing these firewall updates tonight (Tuesday, June 8) after 5pm. These updates are not expected to impact the network other than a potential short delay in response times.

Note: This firewall update is not expected to interfere with the planned 5:30pm Vacation Sick Outage.
