After 18 years of service to the Mines community, our home grown V/S (Vacation/Sick) system will be retired soon.

After 18 years of service to the Mines community, our home grown Vacation/Sick system will be retired. Due to changing State of Colorado labor regulations and unsupported technologies, Mines will be decommissioning the current Vacation/Sick Web Application and replacing it with the Banner Time Entry and Leave Reporting, which is already used by hourly employees. More information on training and go-live dates will be provided soon in preparation for this switch in systems.

  • Has Mines already been using the Banner Time Entry and Leave Reporting?
Yes. All hourly employees at Mines have been using this system. ITS, MAPS, and HR staff are already familiar with supporting this system.
  • When will this happen?
Between December and January, but we’ll let you know more information soon!
  • Will training be provided before we switch away from the current V/S system?
We will provide a variety of avenues for impacted employees and faculty to learn about the new system. Available trainings will accommodate different learning styles and accessibility needs.
  • Will my current V/S accrual data be carried over?
None of your vacation and sick leave accruals will be lost.
  • What actions will I need to take?
Other than training and learning a new system, there is no additional action that you need to take. The project team will ensure that all vacation and sick leave accruals are efficiently transitioned to the Banner Time Entry and Leave System.
