How can EquatIO enhance teaching and learning?

  • EquatIO is a powerful tool that allows instructors to more easily add accessible mathematical expressions in the Canvas rich content editor (RCE).
  • Students can also use EquatIO to complete assignments and quizzes in Canvas.

Documentation

How It Works

You can add math expressions in five main ways:

  • Equation Editor – type expressions directly into the RCE

  • LaTex – use LaTex to create expressions

  • Graph Editor – use the Desmos-powered graph editor to create single or multiple graphs and edit tables or plots of points

  • Handwriting Recognition – handwrite math expressions for EquatIO to convert into text

  • Speech Input – dictate your math for EquatIO to convert into text

EquatIO also allows you to add text in-line with your math, change text colors, add rows and columns to better organize your math on the page, and overlay math onto images.
