The latest version of Zoom has been released and addresses several security issues. The update is mandatory. Starting this week, ITS will enable the auto-update feature so your Zoom client is able to update to the latest version the next time you launch Zoom and run “Check for Updates.”

To check for updates, click on your profile picture and select “Check for Updates.” You will see a progress bar as the new version downloads, then an “Update” button will appear when it is ready to install. Click the “Update” button, and wait for the installation to complete. When the Zoom update window states “You are up to date,” you’re all set!

The last week in May, we will scan for old instances of the Zoom client and will update the workstations that didn’t auto-update to ensure all Zoom instances are up to date in advance of the May 30 implementation. However, we recommend that you check for updates yourselves as per the instructions above for the best user experience. If your client is not updated before May 30, you will be prompted to update before you can join Zoom sessions.
